Yet another child is leaving the nest as we speak. Me and my back are blissfully here writing to you in the basement while the sounds of strong young people hefting things thud on the ceiling above me. I’ll have to make this relatively short so I can return to making sure they don’t break all my stuff in the process. The river of life just keeps on flowin’ man.
I hope you enjoy the puzzle and this picture of Donut as he says, “You don’t really want to rest after a long day do you Daddy? Walkies are much more fun! Let’s go!” I hope to see you back here in September. Be well my friends.
I'm a husband, father, psychologist, musician, and crossword constructor living in Catonsville, MD. My puzzles have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times and its syndicates, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Andrews McMeel Universal Syndicate, the American Values Club Crossword, Spyscape Crossword, The Crosswords Club, and crossword apps such as the Redstone Crossword Puzzle App on iOS and Google Play. All of that means I've been published in every newspaper in the United States and many others around the world. Here at Grid Therapy, I can show a bit more of myself than the major publishers can allow. I hope you enjoy your time here on the crossword couch! As usual? A beauty! And I agree with you totally on 42 Across! Beautiful entries, fantastic clues…another winner, Trent — thank you!

Lovely puzzle! Really enjoyed it, despite having completely forgotten that there is an Epistle to Philemon. Embarrassing. Paul sure wrote a lot of letters. I especially liked FLOWSTATE, LAY IT ON ME, and I DON’T BITE. I remember Sanka, but does anyone drink it any more? As for Donut, well, that is one adorable dog. What a smile! However, CUTEST? Can’t accept that, Trent. Not when my longhaired dachshund, Miggy, is sitting right next to me, beneath a photo of the best chihuahua in the world (RIP), Poco. But as my students used to write (and I would correct them, but now? They’d fight me–and win!), to each their own.

Aww, Donut! She deserves that great clue at 42A. Also, sounds bittersweet to hear about another young one moving out. It wasn’t that long ago I was buying a 57A. I’ll be in your shoes before I know it!
